The wonderful thing about living on a small island is the way the community rallies in the face of crisis, the bird flu epidemic is a perfect example.
On Krapanj everyone is helping to keep our little island protected from the onslaught. The bird flu threat is been fourt on two frounts:

1) Import controls.
2) Migratory bird diversion.

The krapanj ferry staff will carry out spot checks, to prevent the smuggling of infected birds.

Vegetation will be coverd with plastic sheets, and people will climb the trees and ensure that no birds land on Krapanj.
