The famous headless diver, unique tourist directions that are exactly wrong, state graffiti and broken light …….. Welcome to Krapanj

The tourist sign, was installed on the Krapanj porat by Vitomir Curavic (Fanto) under the instructions of Dalibor Garma it was provided by the “Tourist Board Brodarica Krapanj” at Zlatna Ribica.

I tried to explain to (Fanto) when he installed the “You Are Here” board, that it made no sense, as it directs people in exactly the wrong direction, he told me that he had the authority to do whatever he likes? I have since contacted the Mayor of Krapanj Dalibor Garma, and the Tourist Board at Zlatna Ribica, but it seems no one is ready to correct Fanto’s mistake.

Warning for Tourists

The Krapanj Broderica tourist board on Krapanj is either upside down or in the wrong place. Please be aware that all directions are reversed.

I have informed both the tourist board and the local authority who installed it, but they seem oblivious to their error.

The sign “To Split” is pointing to Šibenik, “To Šibenik” is pointing to Split, Broderica is behind you, not as shown in-front, the hotel is to your right not left etc etc.

It takes a special type of incompetence to install a “You Are Here” board that sends people in exactly the opposite direction …. Welcome to Krapanj …… don’t get lost.

Update,

Nearly one year, and despite assurances from the tourist bureau that it will be fixed, this sign is still confusing visitors.

New tourist attraction

We have a gravestone, a very large grey billboard, a quarter sized artists plaster model of a proposed sculpture that has been painted gold! Everything done with the silent approval of our elected representatives, these are the same people who spray graffiti and put up illegal billboards for their own business interests.

Our elected representatives should now seriously consider the legality of their positions on these issues, their failure to act or address the concerns of residents will be taken as their approval of them.

Local government officials on Krapanj show their contempt for the law, they behave with a total disregard of residents. Isn’t it time someone from Šibenik enforced some discipline and control.

Gravestone Screen

Some visitors to Krapanj were rather alarmed, the first thing they see is an apparent grave, it is NOT a grave but a monument, and it has now been hidden from view by a large gray sign…. Problem solved.
